Your Place To Find The Right Stand Mixer – KitchenAid

Are you wondering, Why Should I Buy KitchenAid?

KitchenAid can trace its history back to 1919.  Then, it was called the Hobart Manufacturing Company.  As the story goes, a Hobart executive came home one evening with one of the early stand mixers for some testing.  The company had not come up with a name for the product. But that soon changed.  The executive’s wife tried the stand mixer and exclaimed, “I don’t care what you call it, but I know it’s the best kitchen aid I ever had.” Soon after,  “KitchenAid” was a brand new trademark name, which has stood the test of time for over 90 years.

Now, KitchenAid stand mixers and appliances are considered premiere, top-of-the-line appliances for the kitchen at home as well as throughout the commercial food industry.  They have won numerous awards throughout the company’s 90-year history. In 1986, the Whilrpool company purchased KitchenAid, and it remained a wholly-owned subsidiary since.

Once considered boring, metal appliances, KitchenAid stand mixers now come in more color’s than Joseph’s techni-colored dreamcoat!  Numbering over 40 colors, KitchenAid continues to give consumers exactly what they want in a kitchen appliance: high quality, superior performing appliances that make your life easier and more enjoyable in your kitchen.

Now considered as one of the classic design icons of the 21st century appliance history, the KitchenAid stand mixer celebrates 90 years in 2009, and they introduced a limited edition color, Candy Apple (as seen in the photo above).

People all over the world choose KitchenAid small appliances and for very good reasons. In addition to the excellent reputation and good will of the KitchenAid name, the products simply outperform most of the other kitchen appliance products. In a 2005 survey of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, the KitchenAid brand was voted as the highest rating for kitchen appliances.

KitchenAid appliances are made in the U.S.A. at their primary factory in Ohio and also in South Carolina, Mississippi, Indiana, Arkansas, Ontario, and Quebec. The KitchenAid name has a long, proud history, and they even have their classic cobalt blue stand mixer in an exhibit at the Smithsonian American History Museum where it is featured in a kitchen dedicated to Julia Child. If you happen to be in Washington D.C., drop in the museum to visit America’s “attic” with items such as Dizzy Gillespie’s famous bent trumpet, a pair of Muhammad Ali’s boxing gloves, Einstein’s Brier pipe, and of course, Julia Child’s KitchenAid stand mixer, right above the dishwasher. With 300,000 square feet, the museum is full of amazing pieces of American history.

They’ve come a long way from making the stand mixer.  KitchenAid now produces a multitude of appliances, both small appliances and large appliances. The company website has nearly 4,000 pages of products and product information. They recently introduced a series of KitchenAid Waffle Bakers, two and four-slice toasters, burr coffee maker, and even an espresso machine.

KitchenAid didn’t stop at the kitchen door. They also took things outdoors by adding such products as a collection of 27, 26 and 48-inch freestanding or built-in grills, refrigerators, slow cook warming drawers, and even an 18-inch ice maker.
