What About KitchenAid 5 Quart Mixers

I can’t find its full specs in their website. How heavy is a KitchenAid 5-Quart stand mixer? Need to know the weight of KitchenAid 5-Quart Tilt-Head Artisan Series Stand Mixer.

I just googled “how much does a kitchen aid mixer weigh” and there was a link from Kitchen Aid that says the weight is 22 pounds, shipping weight is 26 pounds. I knew that sucker was heavy! (I have the exact mixer you’re talking about, in Red). They are amazing appliances, I love mine! Edit: Thought I should mention, the link I looked at is for the Artisan Tilt Head mixer, so you know it’s correct.

Can recipes for a 5 quart slow cooker be used in a 3 quart cooker? I just bought a 3 quart slow cooker and I’ve been searching for recipes for it. Many of the recipes I’ve found are for 5+ quart slow cookers and I’d like to know if I can use these recipes if I halve them.

Yes you can. It should be about 1/3 the way up the side. The main thing to look at is the amount of liquid in the crock pot.Too much will boil your food, too little will leave it dry. The cooking times will also decrease since there is less to cook. High temp recipes should be cooked on low.

I am trying to replace the bowl as it’s so small. Will a 6 QT bowl fit my machine? Thank you. Can I replace my 4.5 KitchenAid bowl with a 6 QT one? Hi, I have a KitchenAid classic which came with a 4.5 qt bowl.

Good question. While the base may fit fine, the pattern the paddle makes will no longer be enough to get close to the sides of the bowl, and that will have to be adjusted as well. I would call KA for the answer. I’m not sure if the height of the new bowl is an issue or not, either.

KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus 5 Quart Mixer *OR* KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer? Hi, I am considering buying a KitchenAid stand mixer. On Amazon.Com these two mixers caught my eye: the Professional 5 quart and the Artisan 5 quart.

Really the Artisan is usually more than adequate for most home kitchens. They are great mixers. The Pro has a slightly more powerful motor. I bought the Pro for my wife. The larger bowl,( which you can use on the Artisan) is useful for us. Also preferred the lift bowl over the tilt head. You can usually find the Artisan for less than what you said at home centers or Wal Mart and Target.

The sealing ring to my kitchenaid 5 speed ultra blender is stuck to the blender how can I take it off? The black rubber part at the bottom of the blender.

Soak it in hot water. It seems I remember something about using mayonnaise-slather it on,and let it soften the ring.I wouldn’t use a knife or razor though. Soak it in hot/hot water for a few minuets. If that doesn’t work take a razor blade or sharp knife and place it under the edge turning it as you do, then gently pry it off so you don’t ruin it. I had this happen to me and I boiled water and let it soak until it came off,it took about 45 minuets.

I did find a 5 quart one but wonder if that will be too large. Slow cookers? I only cook for 2 of us and even though we love leftovers, I am wondering if a 5 quart would be? Too large? I am having a hard time finding a digital/programmable 4 quart.

If you use it to make chili it will work fine. You can then divide up the leftovers in dinner portion size and freeze it for a future dinner. It can stay in the freezer for months and is a real time saver.

I will be using it mostly for fruit, veges and ice. For anyone who has used or owns this appliance please post PROS, CONS and OVERALL thoughts on this product. Thanks :) I’d love to know what you’ve used it for and how well it worked. Is it suitable for these ingredients?

I bought one for my home 15 years ago, thinking that the one my mother has been using for 30+ years would die so I would need one of my own. Not so. Hers is still running strong after 35 years, so I can put mine in storage for when I finally have to take a gun to the old girl,( the Kitchen Aid, not Mom) if that ever happens.

If you’re anything like most happy, kitchen dwellers, you’ll learn to love your KitchenAid 5 quart and never want to part from it.
